Let’s start with Thank You, for nominating Beyond the Plate in Saveur Magazine’s 2011 Best Food Blog Awards. I was speechless to learn yesterday, from your emails and kind comments, that (a) this humble site of mine is one of the finalists shortlisted by the magazine’s editors and (b), the honor lies in not just one, but two categories!!! To say that I am flattered would be an understatement. After all, this is not just any blog award competition – it’s run by a nationally-recognized magazine known for immersing us into the food and culture of a foreign land with each issue. So they know what they’re talking about.
So yes, Thank You for submitting this site to the competition. Thank You for visiting, week after week, for engaging with me on the Facebook page, for retweeting my babbles on Twitter, and giving feedback on the recipes you’ve tried. It’s a true honor to be recognized for the work put into bringing you the best photographs I can possibly take of the recipes and flavor combinations that most excite me. Thank You.
